Couldn't help it

Even that I don't suppose to show photos that I took for the magazine
before it has been published by the magazine in official...
Anyway I see it as my final job for Raash Magazine.

The trio of Noa Drezner.
Noa Drezner - guitar
Shuky Shveiky - sing
Hagai Leshem - percussions
Yael Tuchfeld - dance and palmas
Yishai Ben Yaacov - some kind of surprise. Played
on a flute in few parts

I took those photos for Raash Magazine.
Couldn't help it and decided to publish those two photos
from the show before knowing if it will be publish officially
by the magazine. One photo - Yael dance, the other one
from fin la fiesta

The upcoming with Noa Drezner

Thursday night:
A show of Noa Drezner with Shuky Shveiky, Hagai Leshem and Yael Tuchfeld.
A special guest: Yishai Ben Yaacov.

A year and a half I'm a photographer at Raash Magazine, an Israeli music magazine that goes on only at the web. The manager was shocked when I offered myself. He saw that I take photos of flamenco. He told me that he can see what I can do, but I no enough experience at taking photos at music shows that don't includes dancing. I took some photos at a show of a musician without a connection to flamenco after I asked if it will be fine. He accepted. I sent the photos for both - the musician and the manager of the magazine. Two different answers: the musician thanked me and said that the photos are pretty. The manager of the magazine told me what's wrong at the photos (everything). I found myself this way at the crew of the magazine. A year and a half. Recently the work at the magazine went down almost to zero. The work there was very difficult from so many reasons and not real money. At the start the manager was angry with me that I offered some shows that didn't include at the list that he sent. At the only crew meeting - the idea was changed. Anything we find - it's fine to offer doing it to the magazine, even if it isn't at the list. Recently there was one flamenco work that I did to the magazine - Baldy Olier gave a lecture about flamenco, his son was playing and Ayelet Shachar was dancing. I offered to take some photos. Another photographer offered herself as well. I was sure that at the end she will get it. At the end there was a kob that was good for me: I took the photos and the other one wrote about it. I thought I got if thanks to the fact that I'm the only photographer at the magazine with some experience of dancing photography. I hoped so, but didn't ask.

Now I found out about Noa Drezner's show. I offered her to come and take some photos. She liked the idea. And because now we can offer work to the magazine - I offered to do it to the magazine. Bad idea. The manager of the magazine decided that I try to rule the magazine. And no, I won't write about it as Noa wanted because I know her personally. Oh, so the other photography job I received with flamenco to the magazine was because I mentioned that I know Ayelet  personally....

It was a good but difficult time at the magazine. I told them that I will move on soon. End of June I'm leaving the magazine. No respond.

A day and a half before show - I hear from Noa that it turned out well. The magazine send someone to write about the show and they know that I will come to take some photos for the magazine at her show. So, I will go on taking photos of flamenco, but this flamenco show will be the last work that I do for the magazine. Come with me

Happy birthday Nir Popliker

Stage artists - this is for you

For those who still don't know me - my name is Orna Timen.
I'm a photographer from Tel Aviv, Israel.

I used to me a self learning photographer.
I took a part at many group exhibitions at galleries
over Tel Aviv, Jaffa and Shoham (it's near Jerusalem).
I was taking a part with some talented artists who finished
some great art schools. I still had a homey camera.

When I got my first pro camera I took some dancing
photography workshops. I already had this blog.
I still take photos of dancing. I got into an Israeli
music magazine who goes on at the web and called Raash.
A year and a half there. At this time - more than
50 music shows that I took photography at, most of time
for the magazine. And still go on with the dancing photography.
A photo that I took at a show went on to a local paper, three
other for marketing Sarona TLV. More than
once my photos took a part as posters for some other
shows of musicians at Israel. A dancer used a photo that
I took of hers for posters of two shows of hers at Spain.
At the end of 2016 I started to take photos of drag at the
parties/shows called DUYA - Drag Up Your Ass.

Recently I took a photography course to be a better
photographer, soon will start another one. Leaving the
magazine because it isn't fit anymore.

In case you are at Tel Aviv and have a show - I would
be glad to take your photos at the show. I can take your photos
also at Tel Aviv without a connection to the show.
In case you'll use one of the photos for a CD cover - I would
love to publish here the CD at the same price. In case
you'll use one of the photos for posters of shows, no matter where
the shows will be - I would be glad to publish here at the same price,
just let me know.

As far as you will be my clients - I won't mind to ask you
if you wish to see the photos before publishing. You will get the
all good photos anyway.
In case you do it abroad and still want me - it's possible
for a flight ticket and a payment for the hotel room.

It fits to musicians, dancers, actors, drag queens and kings.
It can be outdoors photos, rehearsals and shows. I hope that
till you'll be here I will have enough money to rent a studio, unless
it will be before and you would need it this way - I will look for something.

You can pay in ash or through PayPal

The final project

The photos up:
The final project that I brought to the photography
course. I was the director, the photographer and the model.
The teacher said it's a good one. A lot of it thanks to the personal
thing in it. More than that - technically, I made something
which is difficult to do but I made it well.

The only thing she had to correct me was the thing that
she said that one photo looks like standing by itself and still have
the right connection. The others looks like two doubles and I rather
remove one photo from each double. Instead of 5 photos - it stayed with
3 photos. One of them I was a little surprised that she told me that she prefer it.
At the first two photos - I think that the first is the best between both.
She said that the other one is better because it looks more real and
less posing the camera.

And this is the way it looked at the end on the board:

The salad

I know it isn't so good with the technique, but with the hurry
and excitement....

I finished first course at the photography school.
At September I will start a new one.
Because it was the last class for this course, some
will stay as I am, but not all - we had a special party with
a special breakfast. All needed to bring something for breakfast.
This is the salad that I made - one moment before the mix
with the spices

If money was not a problem

I didn't take those photos.
In case you follow this blog for a long time
or were checking out some of my early posts or wish lists -
you know that I started my photography as
more than a hobby when as a photographer who
took a part at exhibitions.

I want to come back to it. And I am waiting
for the moment to do my first solo exhibition.
So far it were only group exhibitions.

Now accept the connections that I re-build,
the biggest problem for a solo exhibition is the money.
For artists it cost a lot of money to produce
the art and when it outside blogs, Facebook an such - it
takes a lot of money to show it to the world.

I started to think of a project that will cost a lot
of money but I wish to do. If not as an exhibition - at
least for here. Even that would take a lot of money.

The idea of my artistic vision which will take a lot of money:
As far as I know now how to make a self portrait with my pro
camera - I wish to have a studio (even to rent for few days),
buy some fabrics and take it to a tailor for making dresses with
the idea of the dresses up, all from the 19th century, England and
the United States. Having a make up artist for the studio days
for making it special and make some self portraits
with those dresses and a special make up.
